What is Home
Some say a house is a home. But that's not entirely true. A house is a shelter from the wind and rain, while home is our safe haven. No matter what setbacks we encounter outside, returning home is like healing. Home is about family; it has a unique and indescribable feeling—a feeling that needs to be felt with the heart. A house lacks this feeling. A house only has a backyard, four walls, a roof, a few windows, and some furniture. At home, I can watch TV, eat, and play with my family. We can chat while eating, talking about what happened at school, and my family can share their work stories. If I argue with my friends at school, I feel comforted when I get home, but a house can't do that because it's just an empty shell. Home is the dwelling place of our memories. Home can be a tent or an apartment, but it always carries our memories. Our childhood memories will remain on the walls: photos of us playing on the playground, photos of blowing out birthday candles, and our own drawings. But these are just our own memories. Before bed, my family will read to me, help me with my homework, and watch movies with me. This is the meaning of home. At home, I can reunite with my family. Sometimes, family is like a ray of light, illuminating my heart. Home is filled with laughter, and everyone can have a home.
