What Home Really Means
For some people, home is just a shelter, a place you go after school or work. But others see home as a place for memories, quality time, playing, joking, laughing, and so much more. Home can even be your old house that you used to live in, because you might have better memories in it. Home doesn’t necessarily have to be where you live at this very moment.
I used to think that home was just a building, but now I realize that it’s not. Each home has its own unique representation. Some homes are messy and loud, and some are tidy and quiet. I think my home is very organized and neat, but some may not like it when their home is clean and that it just doesn’t feel right.
Culture has a big connection to home. That includes foods and drinks, clothes, and holidays or celebrations. A certain smell of food or specific type of clothing can remind you of home, like a traditional one from your home country. A food that reminds me of home is Ghormeh Sabzi, which is a traditional Iranian dish. Celebrations remind me of happiness and joy, so that’s how it reminds me of home, because home is all about emotions.
In conclusion, I think that home is a place where you are safe and welcome to be yourself, to not be judged, express all your emotions, and just have a great time with your family and friends. This is what I think home really means.
