Home Isn't Just a Place

Home isn't just a place you live in, it's a shield that saves me from danger. It's like a hug that warms my heart and clears bad things out of my mind. It keeps memories from when we were all younger. It has a smell of your childhood that brings back all the memories. Bedtimes used to be and still are the best times. My mom gets me a cozy fluffy blanket and covers me up. When I go to my kitchen I can see me and my siblings' school pictures on the fridge next to each other; seeing us get taller and taller and growing and growing. Sometimes when I go home from school I’m upset but when my two loving siblings are there they cheer me up so much that I have the feeling of crying. I love hanging out with my siblings knowing they watched me grow up from a little girl to an almost teenager. Being the young one in my family makes me a bit upset because when my siblings, who have been there since my day one, move out to their own house. Making cards and drawings for my mom is the best. I walk in her room or the living room and see all of our past pictures we all made for her. My home is so warm. So home isn't just a place.
