My Meaning of Home

Home is a special place that can be described in a lot of words. Home can be warm, cozy, and a safe place. Some people live in the same house all their lives, and some people move. But home is a place where you can make happy memories with your family. Every morning, my dog Nova and my mom come downstairs to wake me. Nova jumps on my bed and licks me like crazy and barks. When I was born, my dad agreed to name me Kayleigh. For a few years me, my mom and my dad lived with my nan and pop, but when I was about one year old, my parents split up. Not long after, my dad got with my stepmom, Morgan. When I first met Morgan, I was very shy, but it didn’t take long to get used to her. After a year, my mom and I moved to an apartment in Mount Pearl. For a few years, it was just my mom and me, but then she met my old stepdad, Steven. After a few years, my little brother Benson was born, and he was so cute. When I was five, my stepmom and my dad got married, and I was the flower girl in their wedding. After four years, my stepdad and my mom broke up, and we moved to Old Petty Harbour Road, but we made very happy new memories in the new house. Our first Christmas in our house, we took lots of photos and did lots of Christmas crafts. On Christmas Eve, we make a side and go over to my nan’s house for Christmas dinner with all of our family and eat a yummy and warm meal. After supper, we open our gifts from our nan like we always do on Christmas Eve. It's like a tradition to us. When I was nine, my little brother Isaac was born. His hair is strawberry blonde, and his eyes are light blue. Isaac’s first word was mama. Me and my brother Benson do not have the same dad, but me and Isaac do. Also, me and Isaac have different moms but the same dads. That's what I love about my home. It is warm, caring, kind, and loving.
