I'm Thankful
I am very thankful for my house. Home is where I feel love and joy, where I feel like I belong. My bed is so comfortable I can stay in it for hours. My mom calls out, “Breakfast is ready.” As I eat my butter toast I say to my mom “Thank you.” I get ready for school and I take my clothes to my bedroom. Through the hallway I see my sister's room. I say, “hey Lydia!” After I get dressed I go into the bathroom to get my hair done. My mom braids my hair and my sister’s hair. I brush my teeth and say to my mom, “It's crazy how many people don't have a home. They don't have a safe place to call their home. It’s hard to believe.” Today I had enough time so I played with my dog. “Come here Jesse, who's a good girl.” My dog is so cute. It's time to get downstairs and put on our boots and coats. We wait outside for the bus and as we get on the bus we wave goodbye to Mom and Dad. I can’t wait to come home to see them again. I know when I get home, that’s where I belong.
Thank you Habitat for Humanity for building houses for the less fortunate. It's amazing that you do that so people can have happier homes like mine.
