The Elements of Home

Home flows like water, following me wherever I go. Whether it be my dad's cooking in my school lunch or wearing shoes I got for Christmas, home is always with me. Home is not just one place; it is many. From my house to school to trips and beyond, home is never not there. Home is not temporary; it is a constant flow of my friends, family, and others. Home can take form anywhere, as long as there are family and friends with you. Home is solid like earth, resisting what tries to break it apart; it stands tall. Home is indestructible; if broken apart, it reforms as one. Home is forever and cannot be separated from itself. And it doesn't matter what tries to break it apart because it stays together in one solid piece. A home by itself isn't strong, but the people who build it are, and that's why it is indestructible. Home never stops getting rebuilt from what happens to it, no matter what. Home is warm like fire; it cheers you up and holds you tight, never letting go. Home is like a warm hug; whenever you need it, it is there, cheering you up anytime, anywhere. The home can burn out, but it lights back up immediately. Aggressive yet calm, home keeps you warm and protected. Home is warm homemade meals, sitting by the fire playing board games, and going on trips. No matter what home is for you, it is always there for you. Home is calm and peaceful like air. It doesn't force you but encourages you, whatever it is you are trying to do. Home pushes you, but never too hard, guiding you along your journey of life. Home is peaceful; it never attacks you, and it helps you. Just like air, you need home to live. Home holds memories, from everything you’ve done in the past. Home is invisible, yet somehow, we can see it. Because home is not something you see; it is something you feel.
