I Was A House, But Now I'm a Home

I am a house, tall and strong. I am made of wood, bricks, and concrete. But I am very lonely with no children running about. My walls are barren and my floors are clean. But one day a family entered my untouched door. Two children were running and jumping. My blinds were lifted and sunlight poured through my windows, There were family pictures on my walls. Water spills were on my floors. The smell of dinner wafted out of the kitchen. There was a lovely quilt on the couch. Love was everywhere. There was laughing and hugs, dancing and singing. I knew what it was like to be a home and I was glad to be one.
