What home means to me.

Home isn’t merely a place pinned on a map, bricks and shingles, or a place to eat and sleep. Home is the comfort of knowing you’re safe and secure and you have support always. It is shelter, knowing that I am warm, protected, and have a peaceful and comfortable place to live and rest. It means that I am safe from harm, that is free from bullies and where I am protected. It means that I have basic necessities such as clothes, food, and water to be healthy. It is quality time with the people I love and enjoy, spending time together hanging out, participating, cooking, celebrating holidays, having fun, and wholeheartedly enjoying each other. It means enjoying the beauty around us, spending time outdoors and working out. Home is where I can relax and be free from worries. It is where I can learn, I can follow my interests, learn, and grow. I feel the most safe at home with the great people in my life, where I am not stressed and I can be myself. It is where I can turn to for support and guidance. When I am scared, worried, overwhelmed, or made a mistake where I have help and I am not alone. Home is my favourite place to be, it means where I am safe, people support me, and most importantly I am loved. Home is where I am the true me. It is security inside and out.
