What Home Means to Me

Home to me isn’t just a building, it's my peaceful, calm, and quiet sanctuary where I feel loved and cared about. It's all of the cherished memories that mean so much to me, like the first time I crawled and all of the places I've gone with my family. When I am sad or upset, there is always someone there looking out for me. It makes me feel safe, secure, and protected. Those are the feelings that no matter what happens, it will comfort you on the hardest days. When I come home from a tiring day at school, I walk into my living room and I instantly feel happy. Our fireplace, the couch, my family, those are the things that mean so much to me. My home is where we live, but is also where we feel love, laughter, and happiness. These are the feelings that make a house a home, and that is why I am so happy that my school is supporting Habitat for Humanity. I think that every one should feel safe, supported, happy, and calm in their house, but not just a house and home.
