Home in Five Senses
What would my beautiful home be like if it were described through the five senses? I shall start from the morning.
I wake up in my soft, comfy bed to the sound of my father's whistle. The smell of home is the lovely aroma of Palou and yogurt, smelling warm with a touch of spice. When I begin to eat, my mouth waters with delight as I taste the rice and meat dissolving in my mouth.
As I sit at the table, I hear the laughter of my father and the happy chuckle of my mother. My brother shares a funny moment with our family and is amused. Later in the afternoon, we gather around the TV to watch dramas together as a family. As we watch, we smile with laughter and frown with confusion, but we enjoy every moment.
I feel the softness of my mother’s chadir as we sit on the couch. Later that evening, we eat a mouthwatering dinner of roti and salan. As we eat, I have a great view of the birds perched on our wooden swing and the moths hunting for food. If you look closely enough, you may see the gentle sway of the strawberry plants.
After the wonderful meal, it is finally time for bed. I go upstairs and settle into my soft, cozy bed. As I lie down, I slowly close my eyes. Then I am asleep.
You see, all these feelings and emotions need a home. I think everyone needs a home, so let’s help out!
