Home Is Our Fortress

Home is your safe dome, where you will feel the shield. Home is where every broken feeling can be healed. Home is our fortress, strong and bright A glowing shield in the darkest night. A peaceful dome where hearts can rest A loving place where we feel our best. At school, the world sometimes may feel unkind But home brings comfort to the mind. When days go wrong and you feel small Home stands steady through it all. Your favorite fortress that always makes you feel safe. Home is cool, home is your tool to help you fix all that is uncool. Home is the place where you can flee and always be free. When you are mad, it helps you, that soon again, you’ll laugh with glee. Home is where you safely sleep Counting dreams instead of sheep. Home has the comfort to let your heart to grow Like gentle sunlight after snow. What is home? Home is kind, home is sweet, home is peace, home is something you will always seize. Home is my fortress, so is yours. Home is our fortress where our heart grows. It’s the place I’ve always known, And that is why I wrote this poem. Sincerely Jap Kaur
