The Meaning of Home to Me By: Jade Horner 11 years old in grade 6 The meaning of home to me is like the warmth of a roaring woodfire, like putting on a onesie in minus 10 and drinking hot cocoa. Home is birds singing like wind chimes swaying in the cool breeze. The meaning of home is coming back from school to the smell of fresh baking and incense freshly lit with the scent of lavender. My 3 dogs barking at the door to give me their love and affection. The bright radiant colors shining like the sky is on fire, natures masterpiece even after there is a radiant afterglow. My cat in a perfect crescent shape, her fur color like a black hole in a galaxy. In the morning the sunlight gently shining through the windows illuminating the room with sparkles of sunshine. Home is bundling up in blankets and reading my favourite book or writing in my journal to reflect on in the future. Home is listening to children playing and laughing. Home is peace, harmony and happiness. Home is having fresh food on my plate with the most wonderful aroma. Home is where my heart belongs, paradise. Home is my parents being there for me through my life, home is my best friend Lena, and her home is like my home. My home is my safe haven at my grandparent’s house, and I would never change anything about it. This Is Home
