I am from...

I am from a street that was once exotic and filled with joy, kids laughing ‘till dawn, all fun and games once long ago, now all is quiet, so quiet you can’t hear a thing, a ghost town I should say. I am from a house three floors, gray wooden floors with wight and black walls. Music plays along with the bickering and singing; Sun shining so bright, the chairs sparkle just cleaned, dishwasher running as hand washed dishes dry, vacuumed floors all new and clean; the day is done along with the fun hallways empty, home is now gloomy after all the cleaning is done. I am from a home of six; Mother cooking as brothers bicker who gets what, sister and I play a game called tackle. Laughing fun ‘till dawn has come. Cats roam the house as we slumber, their piercing eyes watching the trees across the street, now it’s time to wake up, that’s what I would say but not today. I am from a home made of love and joy, that’s what a home is, a place where you feel loved, a home is not necessarily where you live, it is where you are loved and feel safe; The way I watched my parents make decisions and create the foundation of my home, all the love and pride they made it with, the effort they used, all combined into one, everything to make my home, but despite it all, home is where my family is found. I am from home
