Comforts of Home

The comforts of home are many things, from a hot cup of tea to a warm fuzzy blanket, comfort is a feeling, a sight, a memory, a smell, a sound. Comfort is an object, a pet, the taste of a home cooked meal. Comfort is al these things, but for me... Comfort is the taste of a warm cup of tea or cocoa in my favourite mug on a cold snowy day. Comfort is the feeling of curling up nice and tight as I delve into a book, I read into the night. Comfort is a long trek through the woods. From the corner of my eye, a sight so pleasing, a bush full of fat juicy berries. Comfort is the view from a tree up so high, if I could only grow wings, then away I would fly. Comfort is the memory of time sent with loved ones, and my Grandma's peach custard pie, so incredibly good, I thought I might die. Comfort is returning home after school to find my beloved rabbits, Beans and Cottontail waiting just for me. Comfort is the click, click, clicking of my mother's knitting needles as she knits a warm cozy sweater in a beautiful emerald green. Comfort is eating a rich hardy stew, dunking bread in a buttery broth. These are all comforts of mine. For you, they might be different. But no matter how I feel, whether I have homework or need a hug or if it has just been a rough day, I can return home to my family, my pets, a cup of tea, a warm blanket, an enjoyable book, a walk through the forest, a delicious mean, a visit with family. These are the comforts of my home.
