Home is Where the Heart is

Home is where the heart is, whether it is tall, short or long. It can be anywhere: in the city or in the middle of nowhere. Home is where the heart is, where you can grow plants as tall as a grand tree or as long as winding ivy. Home is where you should feel love no matter who you are; where you should feel safe to the moon and back. Home is where the heart is, it can be a little box on the side of the road or a mansion as high as the birds will go. To me, the meaning of home is a safe and special place just for you and me. I'm very grateful to be able to say that; some people aren't lucky enough to call home, home. In this ticking time bomb we call planet Earth, all we really need is a safe place to call home. Not some fancy big house filled with materialistic things. A place to be yourself. So now shove all those hateful thoughts away and make today a brand new day. Cuz’ what really heals a deep and sorrowful wound is home. Love can be a whisper of words coming from far above. After nine long years in a house with a family that I love so much, a family that has pushed away my tears and fears, I have learned the meaning of my home. And even in those dark and scary sleepless nights of fear and terror, I would feel a warmth of love wrapped in a cozy blanket of safety and belonging in my home. That is what home means to me, and I wouldn't want to change it in any way.
