Meaning Of Home

Have you ever imagined what it would be like if your home wasn’t a safe place? I have, and nobody deserves a house that isn’t safe. Home is a place with your family, shouldn’t everyone experience a home that feels safe? The sight of my family reminds me of home. When my family is not at home, my home doesn’t feel like home. I don’t like being alone. Even seeing my brother running around and making a mess fills me with so much joy. The touch of my bed also reminds me of home. When I wake up in my bed, I look out of my window and I want to cuddle back into my sheets. Not having a bed makes it feel less of a home. Lastly, the scent of my mom’s perfume reminds me of home. I remember my mom and her cooking and how I would love to eat the yummy desserts. When I am reminded of my parents, I am reminded of home. My parents, after all, are the reason I have a home. Home is a place where your family is, and it is safe. Nobody deserves to feel the opposite. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for giving so many people a safe home.
