What Home Means to Me

Home is…emotions, I can hear my brother yelling “GOOD MORNING!” he runs to my room waking me up, I go down the stairs to eat my breakfast my mom always asks me “how was your sleep?” I always say it was good, but sometimes I think about my dad and can’t really sleep, my dad, and my nana, and my grandma, and my grandpa are in Ukraine. I care about them, and I want them to feel safe in our country, right now I’m in Canada with my mom, brother, and my stepdad, I feel safe here. I’m happy that I’m here, I like my school, it is nice, I’m thankful that at least I have friends here! And home is not just a roof and more than 4 walls, home is where our memories are kept. I live in Canada for 2 years, but it is still doesn’t feel like home. I like my mom's food, sometimes if I wake up early I can cook breakfast. I like making food or cooking, because everyone says it is good !! and they say “thanks” I’m happy that sometimes I can help my mom, she always would ask for some help and I’m going to help her (pls help someone who actually needs help) and also home is not where you live in a house. Where you always love and expect. Now I have two houses one is in Ukraine where my dad is waiting for me and here with my family in a safe environment for me, and my brother in Canada. I’m happy that I’m here and really thankful! I feel safe here and I’m really happy that I can go to Ukraine really soon, THANK YOU CANADA YOU ARE THE BEST.
