Home is Friday Nights

This is my house where I've made so many memories: sitting on my bed talking to my friends petting, my pet hamster (her name is Lizzy), baking and cooking but preferably cooking because my siblings like my cooking better than my baking; also, I'm not very good at baking. I am 9 years old and love my house and could not imagine moving. My house is full of noises: the sound of my dog barking when I go to sleep, the sound of my mum cooking or baking, the sound of my siblings talking, the sound of my brother watching hockey, the sound of my other brother in his bedroom doing homework. All of these sounds remind me of everything in this world important to me. I have two friends down the street and one across from the street. I like to imagine what they were doing when I'm in my bed until eventually I fall asleep. When I wake up and smell muffins, I jump out of bed and look to see if Lizzy is awake but she never is awake since she's nocturnal. She will sleep the whole day unless I wake her up. Wait! This is not supposed to be about my hamster, this is about my home! I love my home. I have spent so many rainy days reading in my cozy bedroom. I can hear the rain as it pelts against the roof. I can hear it pelting against the water in the creek. I can hear it pelting against the windows. I love to curl up in a snug little ball on my bed and listen to my mum or dad read to me. I love my family so much and they all make extraordinary things and they all have extraordinary talents. I hope I do too. I am pretty good at art. Fridays we have pizza and usually a movie but what makes Fridays really fun is that the whole family comes over. I have a very big family; there are 11 people in my family. So usually on Fridays they almost all come over except for my sister who lives in Toronto. I really love pizza, I also really like watching things. I also like reading comic books. I like making bracelets and selling them on the street with my friends. Last summer we made a lot of money. I've always wished my home had a secret little hiding place but I've not found one yet. There are so many places I would want to go in the world, maybe Africa, maybe Italy, or England, or Scotland or Ireland. But then I think to myself maybe I just want to read a book in my bed and never leave my home but everyone does end up leaving but then they come back almost every Friday!
