Meaning of Home

What home is to me, home is the sound of music. The comforting sound of my family’s and my laughter floating throughout the house. Home is the feeling of my parents’ hugs wrapping around me like a big blanket. Home feels like a warm breeze and a safe place. It is a place I can be comfortable. Where I am sitting in my pyjamas drinking hot chocolate with marshmallows melting in my mouth. Home is the smell of my mom’s spaghetti. Or the smell of my dad’s beef burgers. Home looks like the sight of my bedroom. And the sight of my mom my sister and me baking in the kitchen. Home is where I have a sibling rivalry with my sister. That also has a caring and comforting feeling. Home is where I sing the lyrics to songs at the top of my lungs with my sister. Home is where my sister and I dance to the songs during karaoke. Home is a place where I feel safe protected and loved. Home is where I grew up with my parents and my sister. Home is not just four walls and a roof. It is a place where my family and friends are. It is my life’s difficulties and success. It is where my life’s memories are. That to me is what home is.
