What Home Means to Me

In the heart where memories softly gleam, a sanctuary, more than it may seem. A haven of love, a shelter from strife, let me paint for you what home is in life. Home is the echo of laughter in the halls, A symphony of echoes as the sunlight falls. It's the warmth of shared meals and stories told, In the embrace of family, young and old. The walls may stand, weathered and worn, Yet within them, a haven where love is reborn. A canvas of comfort, each room a story, Whispers of joy and echoes of glory. Home is the scent of familiarity, Of cookies baking with sweet sincerity. A refuge in storms, a harbour in distress, A place to find solace and sweet rest. Windows framing moments, seasons, and years, Witnessing laughter, joy, and sometimes tears. The creak of the floor, a comforting sound, Echoes of footsteps that have come and gone around. Home is the tapestry woven with care, Of shared dreams, triumphs, and moments rare. It's not just the structure, the roof, or the door, But the love within that makes it so much more. So, when the day's journey finds its end, In the arms of home, hearts truly mend. A place where acceptance and love freely roam, For me, that's the essence of what home means to me Thank you, Habitat for Humanity.
