Home, a place of peace

My homes are where we celebrate Christmas. We are happy to be able to open presents, be around each other and share our smiles and hugs as a family. My homes are a place where we eat and drink and are healthy. Plates are always full of hearty food and both of my moms always have stocked cupboards . I eat warm meals and drink clean water. My sheets smell nice and my floors are clean and everyone around me, loves me. My homes are a place where I can be myself and when I'm in a bad mood my parents don’t think I'm rotten or a bad kid, and when I'm selfish, dishonest or careless, I don't have to worry about getting in too much trouble. When I'm feeling mad or sad they will talk to me about it, ask what’s wrong, and give me a hug. My homes are a place of peace. When I get home my heart doesn't race. It slows down and into a slow rythmic beat as I relax. I know nothing will hurt me. Everything around me is calm while my mothers are making dinner. Savoury flavours wrap around the kitchen table like a cozy blanket. My homes are a place of play. Seeing my cats gleefully wrestle in the backyard or try to scramble up a tree makes my face crinkle up into a smile. Friends are always welcome and giggles float around like fluffy clouds as we dress up my cats or try to cross my ninja line. I'm glad Habitat for Humanity can give people a home like this and let them have a chance to raise their children or just have a good life in a comfy place to call home.
