The real meaning of home

Home is like a tattoo, it’s permanent. It will stick with you for the rest of your life.so you have to embrace the lifestyle of the tattoo because that’s the only one you got. When I think of home I don’t think of a building or any structure. I think of the spicy Mexican rice melting in my mouth. I think of the endless soft warm hugs against my chest. So, when I think of home, I think of the loud music blaring around my house. When I think of home I think of the sweet smell of fresh muffins or pastries in the morning. And so, when I think of home, I think of the sight of my parents reaching out to hug me once more. When I was in my old town I felt at home. We made memories at parks, museums and the everlasting slurpie trips to co op. But then, we moved. Thinking that I will forget those memories forever. But as we moved in, I didn’t forget, because I realized that home is not the house or the building, it’s the family that it’s in. Writing this made me feel confident, content to go home, to my sisters and my parents my real home.
