Thinking of Home

My home is the perfect place for me. Before I leave the house for school, there’s usually a piece of the big pancake on my plate, just waiting to be eaten. It tastes very good! And if I’m lucky, after school there might be spare cake or cupcakes that my mom keeps for us! Whenever I walk in from my 1 hour drive from school in the city to my cabin-like house in the country, I usually hear my homeschooled brother playing video games on our Wii connected to our TV even before I come inside. Then when I open the door I can smell supper being made. It’s usually something that involves either meat or vegetables. If not, then it’s probably mac and cheese with a few bits of meat in it as well. And if my mom just received an order for a cake or cupcakes from someone who’s heard of her, then it’ll be cake or cupcakes I smell! Once I take off all of my outdoor clothes, I look around and either see toy chaos,[My brother likes to leave his toys out and make a city], or a very clean house. When I go to bed that night up in my bunk bed, I usually feel very thankful that it is so soft and cozy and warm. As I fall asleep I either hear a bouncing basketball, one of my brothers on a game, or a conversation with the adults. Then I fall asleep and either have a dreamless sleep, or I have dreams. Then I wake up in the morning and it happens again. That is my thought of home.
