Where is home?

Where is home? A home isn’t place with four walls and a roof, it’s were I feel safe, and loved. Home is where I can be myself in my own skin, I don’t need to put on a Halloween mask fit in. It doesn’t have to be where your family and best friends are, cause that love will reach you, near and far. Home is where I make my best memories, where I can enjoy myself and play all day in the sun, where I can win races and be named number one! It’s where I can dance in my kitchen with my sister and dad, where I sit down to relax with a good book, or my iPad. It’s where I snuggle my dog, and give him too many treats, where we watch a movie with popcorn and sugar sweets. It’s where I listen to music on the couch or in bed, its where I re-read books that I already read. Its where the smell of my dads cooking reels us in like fish bait, then we enjoy the new food we’ve never ate. Its also where I eat the food I hate, but my parents always say, “its good for you” or “don’t worry its good.” I never agree, but I eat it anyways because I should. Home for me is not just my house, its my school, my cottage, the community I live in. It’s where I play board games with my brother, though I never win. But home is not perfect, nothing is, Home can change, people will fight, but don’t worry it’s alright. Because in the end we’re all friends, on the same team. Home is where they don’t judge, where I try new thing with a simple nudge. Home is where they make me laugh so much, I cry, home is where I say good night, good morning, but I never say goodbye. because I might not have a house through the good, and the bad, but I’ll always have a home and for that I’m very glad.
