What Makes a House A Home

What makes a house a home is the people living there, Along with all the love they share. What makes a house a home is not fancy furnishings that can be bought, But personal belongings that mean a lot. What makes a house a home is not its concrete foundation, But smiles, laughter and love are the core of its creation. What makes a house a home is where you feel accepted, And where you are safe and protected. What makes a house a home is where familiar smells encompass the room, Dad’s BBQ, freshly baked cookies and mom’s perfume. What makes a house a home is where traditions are passed down, And where hopes and dreams are abound. What makes a house a home is the warmth in every embrace, A haven of comfort, a cherished, sacred space. No matter where you chose to roam, You’ll always be in the place you call home.
