A Home is Not Always a House

A home is not always a house. A house is a place for us to live. A home is a place to feel happy. A house is a place where you sleep, live and eat. A home is a place where people you love are nearby. They are always nearby, day and night. You find comfort at home. Maybe even with people that you do not get along with. A house has a roof and four walls. But we need not just a house, a home made out of love! Spending time with the people we love. Nice times, as they eat tasty pie. And play board games near the fireplace on a cold freezing night. On snow days when storms make you freeze, you are in your house, drawing and laughing, eating chips. In the background, the fire sings cozy songs. Wood cracks in the light as you draw the snowy night. A house is a place where you want to live. The place where you want to be. Nine pm it’s time for bed. Home is Home. Postscript Some families don’t have a home and I am very thankful for all the people who donate or build homes for families who need them. Thank you Habitat for Humanity and SAGEN for helping these families.
