“Home is a place where your feet may leave, but your heart will always stay.”

A house and a home are two very different things. A house is a physical structure composed of bricks, concrete, wood, and stone. A house is a place that shelters you from outside threats like snowstorms and thunderstorms. In a house, you have a bed, a couch, and a kitchen. Things that make your life comfortable and happy. However, a house isn't quite enough to make a home. A home is a place that is made of pure love. In a home you feel like you belong somewhere, that you mean something. At home, you feel loved and calm. Serene and secure. A home is where you start your life and end it. At home, you can be silly, and you can be sad. Either way, you will always be loved and cherished. You can be with your loved ones and make happy memories. Home is the perfect place for you to be yourself and not be judged by other people. What does home mean to you? To me, it means everything for me to have a place of happiness. My home is the most wonderful place in the world. I have a kind and happy family, and a silly pet. I have everything I need at my home. Every day, even if I’m sad, my family will make me feel better. When I come home from school every afternoon, it feels so refreshing to walk in through the door, knowing I can enjoy the rest of my night with my sister and parents. My mother usually prepares a plentiful meal for us to eat. My home is a beautiful place of memories and happiness, where I can relax on the couch or in my soft, comfortable bed that I return to at night. I have lots of places where I can make happy memories with my family. When I was little, I used to think everybody had a happy home. Now I know the truth. Some families aren’t as fortunate as mine. Some families don’t have a home or a house. I can’t imagine the feeling of not belonging anywhere. Not having a place of love. Kids need love, and they need a place for their family to forge memories and enjoy childhood. The fact that some kids never eat fresh food and don’t have a place to live is so sad. That’s where Habitat for Humanity comes in. They can build affordable houses for those families and help them get a house to make a home. Thank you for giving happiness to people who need it.
