Meaning of Home

The meaning of home is something that once you make it a home it will forever stay that way. Whether it looks different on the outside because of renovations or even if you move and one day you walk or drive past and you wonder what it's become, just remember that it may look different on the outside but you will forever hold those memories of the house that you used to call home. I have two special people in my life and one told me, “You can make a house a home if you have the right people alongside supporting you every step of the way.” My mother used to tell me that whenever we moved. Many people say that blood is not always family. I think some people say that because they've either had a rough time or because that's what they believe in. Others may say that blood is family and some may say that because they don't want to accept others in their lives. You can't make a house made with jewels, fancy clothing and parties…do you want to know why? It's because the only thing you need to have to live happily is love! To love and to be loved! You can't forever live in the past, you can only live off of those memories. A home is where you're surrounded by people that love, support, and care for you. They don't care whether you’re family or not or whether you're the same race or religion. Someone I love lives in Swan River right now. He used to live in Killarney but he knows Killarney will always be his home. He is not blood nor a long lost relative, but I love him as my uncle and my dad, because he's always been that father figure to me. Home means being grateful that you have a home full of people that love you dearly, and that you have food, toys, and electronics. Sometimes people don't realize how hard someone tries and tries and tries to make enough money for food, rent, sports, and extra activities. There was a time when I never realized how hard someone worked to make that money for all of those things. I just want to say thank you to everyone in the world working hard so kids, young adults, and adults can have a home. Everyone deserves a home.
