Home

To me, home feels like the warm wind. As it passes by you, you feel a warm wave as the heat sinks into you. That's how it feels when I walk into my home. Home smells like the enchiladas or lasagna my mom makes, it smells like love was put into her food. Home tastes like my grandma’s mashed potatoes and gravy. She makes them with love and happiness. She is glad when we enjoy her food. Home feels like the warm and sweet hugs I get from my mom, her hugs make me feel safe and warm. In my home I can see my loving family greet me with hugs and a big smile. Home sounds like the laugh of my friends and family, I feel joyful when I hear them laugh and I know that they are happy. Home tastes like the snacks we get before my family watches a movie together. Home is arguing over which movie to watch, and then fighting over who gets the blanket. Home is where my family is. I love my family and my home. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for giving people a chance to understand what a home feels like.
