What Makes A House A Home

Every home tells a story and every story, says something different. What is the difference between a house and a home? A house is a physical structure with walls, a roof, heating and cooling. My house also holds a lot of things such as furniture, everyday appliances, toys, etc. But, the house and the stuff inside are not what make a house a home. My home isn’t just a big place to hold random things. It’s a place to make and hold memories. What makes a home is the people inside it, such as family and friends. But it’s also the special things you put inside like pictures to make it feel like your own. Home is a safe and judgment free zone to be as crazy or silly as you want. It’s a place where you can share secrets and feel comfortable doing so. A place where you can show all your emotions and feel supported. Some people say “home is where the heart is” and I think that's true. No matter where I am, being with my loved ones makes me feel at home. That is the difference between a house and a home.
