Home Is Where I Belong

Home is where I feel safe with the comfort of my family that I love so, so much and I know that they love me too. I walk in the house and smell the yummy food baking in the oven. When I go outside, I smell the freshly cut grass and the dew of the rain. Home is where we celebrate all our special traditions that we cherish whether we dance, laugh, express our feelings. Home is where I feel safe to cry, laugh, dance, and express all my feelings I feel the warmth of my house when I go inside, I make a cup of hot chocolate and I feel the warmth of my cup rubbing against my hands. I see my family gathered around the living room. I see my mom carrying all the food to the tables then we all go around serving food to one another. We all sit down and eat our food and we all wash our dishes that we used. Mom tells us to do our chores. I clean the kitchen and all the mess that was left. I put away all the leftovers in the fridge. I tell Mom that I’m done, and she tells me what I forgot to do and helps me out. I ask Mom to look and see how clean the kitchen is. She says, “good job, Rayne”. I sit on the couch and talk to my grandma as she tells me stories. I love it most when my family tells me stories of their lives when they were younger. A BIG HUGE THANK YOU TO HABITAT FOR HUMANITY FOR MAKING THOSE HOUSES WHO NEED THEM MOST DURING THE HARDER TIMES IN LIFE. YOU SURE MAKE LIFE EASIER! THANK YOU!
