The colours of home

My home is full of colours, it is like a paint palette, there are many colours there, but the most important are red, brown, rainbow... When I think of warmth, red will pop up in my mind. It is perhaps the most important colour in my palette. Red is the colour of fire in the big stone fireplace, giving many families warmth, making home a cozy, nice place. It is the colour that we traditionally use when we celebrate Christmas. When we eat gingerbread cookies, we sprinkle with red and green sprinkles. When we look at our house, we see red Christmas lights on it. Red is the colour that brings our home warmth, joy, and happiness. The next important colour in my little palette is brown. It is the colour that fills my living room. My dad makes coffee in the early morning while it is heavily snowing outside. Then, the smell of coffee fills the living room, as if the air has been dyed brown. Brown is the “smell” of home and the “smell” that gives my dad peace and joy. Whenever I smell coffee, I always think of my loving father. The following colour that I’m going to talk about is not just one colour, it is a bundle of colours that make up the taste of home. It is in the kitchen where my mom makes delicious desserts full of colours, like greenish matcha cheesecake, yellow crème brûlée, red velvet cake, orange macaroons… My moms’ love “transformed” many colours onto my paint palette. She is like a magician with food. She makes up the taste of home. My home is filled with colours, the most important are red, brown and rainbow, these colours make up the warmth, joy, happiness, “smell” and “taste” of my home.
