What does the term “Home” mean to me?

The term “Home” means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. For me, home is the one place I can rely on, it’s the place where my family is and it’s the place where I get love and make memories. My home never lets me down. Memories are an important part of any home. They shape and impact your life. They can be good or bad, but they all come from your home, not your house. A house is a structure, a home is a place that gives you peace. For example, I moved this year, I wasn’t sad because I was physically moving, I was sad because I felt like I was leaving all my memories behind. But that’s the thing about memories, they come and they go. Sure, I created great memories in my old house, but that doesn’t mean I won’t create good memories in my new house. Love is something that is given to you in your home by the people around you. Love could be as simple as helping with homework or as serious as saving your life. When you love someone, you don’t think, you act. An example of this is an house fire. When someone you know is in danger, you don’t think before saving them, you just save them. Weather that be your mom, sibling, pet, friend, etc. When you see a house fire and someone you love is inside, you go in and save them, it doesn’t matter to you if you get hurt or not, as long as that person you love is safe. Even though, home may mean a lot of things, to me it means: love, safety, and peace. A home is not the same as a house, it is not bricks, wood, cement, instead it is joy, laughter and memories.
