Meaning of Home

What do you think when someone says home? I think of what it means to me. The meaning of home to me is a place where you can’t wait to go after a long day at work or school. When I hear the final bell for school, I know I can’t wait to get home and see my family. Home is a place where you want to be and you long to be. What is the difference between a house and a home? A home is filled with memories and warmth. Not just warmth from a fireplace or from a blanket, there is warmth from the love and laughter that comes from your family. In a house there is no life, no laughter, no happiness and no memories or warmth. A house is just the structure or the bones to a home. What is something you love about your home? Something I love about my home is that even though I have moved into it recently it is already filled with happy memories. For example, a memory that I have made was when my grandma came over during the summer and we all picked apples from my apple tree and made apple crisp. I will never forget that day. Another memory I have made was when my dad surprised me by going to IKEA and buying a bunch of furniture for my bedroom. I had been begging for a room makeover and he surprised me with one. I am very thankful that he bought me the furniture for my room because I can make more memories with my family and friends now. Furniture doesn’t’ make a home, a home is where you make memories, a house is a place memories need to be made. I really love my home.
