The Starwatcher

The starwatcher sat in a tiny, clear bubble floating around space. He liked it up there as there was no sound other than his thoughts entering his mind. Although sometimes he felt lonely watching the stars move around the atmosphere. One particularly starry night, when the stars poked shiny holes through the sky, he observed a round, clear bubble. He squinted at the sight of this, as he had never seen anything besides stars and planets. When he could adjust his eyes to the bubble, he noticed a girl staring at him in astonishment. Years followed, and their bubbles slowly drifted closer. Night after night, they would wait until the day where they would finally be able to say the words that they had been longing to say. One night, when each of them had awoken from dreamland, they realized they were holding hands. They didn't know what to say at first, yet they were happy. They hugged. Suddenly, meteors started racing towards their bubble. The meteors sprinted at the speed of light, the bubbles waited and embraced for the big hit. But it never happened. The meteors stopped in front of their bubble, blocking any light from the stars. This, my friend, was the power of love, the meteors were attracted to the pure love that the two of them shared. The meteors piled on top of each other, creating what you and I now call Earth. Earth, the planet many humans have chosen to shelter in throughout many blinding storms. The homes where fires crackle in fireplaces around the globe. The home you and I have made many happy memories. The home, where star watchers are buried deep beneath our feet, holding hands and remembering how they found love once, a long time ago.
