Home and House

Home and house, house and home. They sound the same but are very different. A house is a place you live in,it has a roof, walls, ceiling, floors, maybe lots of objects, but what you don't realize is that it IS empty. A house can have flower walls, gold chandeliers or even 500 rooms! But it will NEVER compare to a home. A roof over your head walls, floors, windows, pools! All it is is a structure. I have one house but I have more than one home. The place I go to gymnastics, the place I paddle, where my grandpa lives, the cottage, the beach! All of these might not be fancy or even a house. But the love, laughter, joy, food and fun is what makes it home. When I'm at home I Feel my dogs love and warmth I Smell the fresh banana bread coming out of the oven I See my the cards when we play a family card game I Taste my dads bacon that he works so had on just to put a smile on our faces I Hear the sounds of music playing for a dance party My grandfather helps at Habitat for Humanity as a volunteer. He doesn't do it for money or any of that stuff, he does it because he likes to help and is happy to! Thank you habitat for helping me be able to share this with you and I hope if I win others will read this and learn what the difference between house and home is. Remember A house is a structure Home is love
