Everyone Needs a Home

Storms may come, and storms may go, They might try to break me, But I will always have my home, Home is not just a room with four walls, Not just a kitchen with dishes in piles so tall, Not just a living room and my bedroom above. A place where we live with the people we love. A place of love, joy and peace, A place where the bad tends to cease, A place where I can be so strong, A place where I have learned right from wrong. It’s where I can find what life truly means to me, A place where I will always be. A nurturing garden where I look up at the stars, And one day find my guiding one. Your home can be across seas and land, Home isn't something you can fit in your hand. It's where your spend time with those you love, With its wings spread, as graceful as a dove. I’ve traveled to a place far, far away, I have a new home that I must create. I lay the foundation of memories so strong, Into a place where I stay and belong. Brick by brick I build the walls, I add a roof above the halls. My new home isn't in my old familiar place It's become a new destiny I have to chase I light the diyas, pray and set them aflame, I keep my spirit alive even when I'm in a different place. Keep my traditions, and celebrate them everyday, My home isn't that different here, it's pretty much the same. I sweep the floors to keep them clean, So my home is happy and pristine. I wash away the impurities, And get rid of the insecurities. A place where I can be myself, I can’t imagine being anywhere else, Home is a place where they lift me up when I’m down, Where I can be with people I love to be around.
