The Meaning of Home

To me the meaning of home is where a lot of important things happen like your first night in your own room when you're little, and your first time cooking. These are just a couple of things that mean home to me. To me there are lots of things about home that make it home like my room. My room is where I can rest in my cozy blankets in bed. It is also where my clothes are to keep me warm on cold days or to keep me cool on warm days. My room is where my books filled with mystery and adventure are. My room is also a place where I can go to see my cats and take a nap with them. A lot of the time that includes being woken up by my cat Amilia because she brought me a present. Home smells like the wood stove in the morning and fresh bread and cookies in the frosty afternoons. It smells like cleaning supplies when we have company over and the smell of tacos, bacon or steak and cooked vegetables. Home smells like whipped cream when we play pie in the face after dinner with all the excited faces at the table. Home is where my family and I play games, color and paint each other's nails at the table. Home is where I flop onto the couch in front of the fire in a nice cozy blanket watching a movie with my family. Home is where I watch a movie under the blankets with my pet sleeping pig. Home is where I can hear my pigs feet on the laminate floor when I get home. It’s where I can hear my cats mowing and my dogs barking at the chickens. Home is where I can hear my family’s voices in front of the T.V. Home means a lot to me but in those words are the most important things to me. Home is all of those things and a whole lot more.
