What Is A Home?

Home isn’t a place, it’s something more. Is it people or is it feelings?  Well, I’m about to tell you what I think the answer is.  Home can be your people: My dad with his wise words and protection or my mom who has supported and comforted me. It’s my younger sibling with her cuteness. I believe home is all your people working together to create the best thing ever - family.  Home is also a place, like your house, that is filled with memories. In my apartment, you’d see our kitchen, our family medals, our tech, our clothes, and our toys. Everything we own has story or a memory behind it. Every item is special because of that one thing me or my family member did with it.  In my home, you’d hear laughter and me and my sister playing. You would smell the aroma of fresh food, my mom’s perfume and fresh snow. You can almost feel love’s heartbeat. It all makes my family unique.  Feelings are important too. In your home you should be loved and supported. You should feel safe and that you’re in right place. That’s how I feel in my home, so I hope everyone does too.  So, what’s a home? Feelings or people? I think it’s feelings for people we love. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity for giving a place to feel safe and loved to people in need.
