Home is a Place

Home is a place where we figure out problems. We can stay safe, and have fun together. My home is where I play games and where my family is. I have 5 siblings. I am the youngest. I have two brothers and three sisters. We work like a family should. Sometimes we are mad at each other but love each other and share with each other. Sometimes we say “sharing is caring”. We tell jokes to each other. For example, “What do you call a sleeping bull? A bulldozer!” It’s fun to have a big family, because then we can do a lot of stuff together. I listen to stories at home and it is really fun. Home is whereI play with my friends and read books with my family. Home is where I sit in a chair with my cozy blanket and drink hot chocolate with a book in my hand. Home is where we play games. Sometimes Michael, my dad and I go fishing. Home is where we throw snowballs and go home with wet socks and slushy boots. I often ask my mom if she will make hot cocoa. Sometimes when I come home, hot cocoa is waiting for me. Sometimes I can watch something on the iPad. I say I have the best family in the world because they care for me and I care for them too. –Nicole Wollmann, Grade 4
