Home

To me, home is feeling like I fit in. Home is knowing that if I fall someone will be there to help me back up. My friends make me feel at home. You don't need a place to be at home. Calgary is where I feel at home because I have close friends and family. Sometimes I feel like I don't fit in like when I got into Westmount (my new school) but I reached out and found the friends I have today. Here in Alberta, we are known for our Rockey Mountains which are so beautiful and I have hiked them many times, one of my favourites is Sentinel pass which makes me feel free. Sometimes when I get to the top of a mountain I feel like I have no limits and I can do anything and that feels like home to me. In Calgary, the weather can go all over the place onetime it was sunny when I went to my hockey game and when I came outside it was snowing. Sometimes I’ll take my jacket off because it is hot and then it starts raining-but that makes Calgary different and in that way, it makes Calgary feel like home. My grandparents on my dad's side of the family were both born in South Korea But moved here now they call Calgary home because it is where we are. I feel like they probably had been scared at first because their English wasn't very good but nowadays they feel comfortable speaking English in conversations with us. In conclusion, all of these things make Alberta home to me even if the weather is biting, cold if someone is having trouble understanding me, when I cant get out to the mountains, if im having trouble making friends at a new school it still feels like home.
