My Home is

My Home Is When you ask a person what home means to them, they'll probably say, "My home is family, or my home is memories.” These answers are correct, but they're the simple ones. Everybody has different answers to these questions, but let me tell you what my home is… My Home Is, A place where I learned how to ride a bicycle without training wheels. The excitement I felt knowing I was balancing on my own two feet. The laughter I heard from my grandparents when my cousin pretended I was driving by bike recklessly on a highway and directed the traffic away from me. A place where I discover what’s dangerous to touch when I was 3 years old. I put a hot straightener on my forehead. I was probably curious what it was. Luckily, my mom was in the same room when it happened. I know better now, but I hope I don’t make the same mistake again. A place where I watch Marvel movies in my homemade movie theater with my family. While the popcorn was in the microwave, my uncle would be setting up the projector. Me and my cousins would try to hang up the white bed sheets, but we were too short. Instead we would pour out the soda trying to avoid spilling it. A place where I play HORSE on the driveway with my cousins. With the constant fear that if I miss the net, the ball wouldn’t hit the neighbour's car or ruin my uncle's front yard that he’d been working so hard to grow and protect. Brampton is my home. A whole community raised me to be the person I am today. “You can take the girl out of Brampton, but you can’t take the Brampton out of the girl.”
