Home Poem

My home is where I live, a place to be myself, a place where I don’t have to worry about people judging me. Where I can be with people who love me no matter what I do. Where I can relax and forget about my worries. It feels like love, happiness, forgiveness, and peace. It feels like reading a good book on the weekend or watching a good movie on a late saturday night. Or the hot sand going through my toes in the summer evening. It sounds like my dog barking at his shadow. It sounds like my brother yelling and the harsh waves on a dark and stormy night. It looks like doing fun hula hoop contests on the wet and cold grass and the warm summer breeze. Or my brother and I running around playing hide and seek. It looks like my brother and I playing in the snow until we are too cold. It tastes like fresh squeezed lemonade and the cold salty breeze as you walk by the beach. It tastes like warm hot chocolate with little marshmallows. Home is the place where I feel safe and accepted.
