The only home for me

Home is more than just a shelter for me to hide from the rain, it’s a place where I can be myself, without hiding my feelings. Home is where I can cry without hiding my face. Home is where I can speak the truth, all the things that I wouldn’t say to my closest friends. Home is where I can play music without worrying about what my friends think about it. Home is where I can cuddle with my dog after a long day. Home is where I feel safe. Home is where I can run to when I feel down. It’s where I can pretend I’m in a totally different place, in my parent’s arms. Or I can simply walk over to them, say four words, and feel better already. Home is where I can take a break from all of my worries, I can wash them all away and replace them with things to look forward to. Home is where I can turn negative to positive. Home is where I can sit down, look out the window at the glistening blanket of white snow, I can greet my neighbor as she comes back from a trip, I can talk to my Dad about music, play the drums as he plays the guitar. I can sit down on my couch, relax, and watch a movie. I can have a single worry awaiting me. Home is where I can sit down and think of what I look forward to, instead of looking back at all the mistakes I’ve ever made. Home is a place to store all my good times. Home is safe, home is warm. I can do what I love. I can be myself, without anyone judging me. Everyone needs a home. Everyone needs one like mine.
