My Home

I’m 10 and in our third country and fourth house already; and it still felt like the same HOME for all these years. “How?” you ask? Well “HOUSE” and “HOME” are not the same… A HOME is not just about the stacked pile of bricks and steel bars, but also the concrete of feelings, memories, love, discipline, sharing and caring for each other, that binds them together. It is not about the money (whether it costs more or less), whether big or small, whether rented or owned, but a place that gives you comfort and warmth. HOMEs are made by parents, grand-parents, care-givers, cousins, uncles, aunts…….. and not necessarily by great architects! Born in a foreign country, a few years in my home country and now in Canada! During our time in the three countries; we made new families & friends and discovered new cultures & traditions. That has made me realize that HOME is all about experiencing cultures, languages and traditions with your near and dear ones. All these places gave and continue giving us an environment that never made us feel like we were “away” from anything or anyone. My ingredients for the perfect HOME pie/cake/cookie: __ tbsp Love & Joy Honey __ oz Culture & Tradition Milk __ tsp Sharing & Caring Baking Powder __ cups Family & Friends Flour __ tbsp Craze & Fun Spice How much of each ingredient is up to us. Mix them all up, bake at 350 K (for kindness) to a perfect warm and soft dish to enjoy for life! A HOME is not a place of “work” A HOME is not a place to be stressed A HOME is a place to share A HOME is a place to feel “blessed” So, HOUSE may be temporary…. But a HOME is permanent!!
