My Family is My Home

My Family is My Home A smile is upon my face when I arrive home. I am with my family and I am not alone. Home is where I feel safe and loved, home is my preferred place. We’re all at home, gathered together, home-sweet-home. Home is more than a building or a place, It’s where I can feel at peace and where I feel safe. Home is where I can find guidance and joy, When I need help I know it is at home. At home I feel free and my heart is at ease, I have my mom’s understanding and assistance, My dad’s support and guidance, My siblings who I can play and share my thoughts with My house is only a building, but my family is what makes it a home. Home is a place where I feel the assurance, That whatever mistakes I make, my family will always be there, Home is where I can contemplate, How lucky I am to have a home, a family, I can’t explain, But one thing for sure, there’s nothing for me to complain. Imaging all the people who live on the streets, Being alone with no place to call home. One piece of paper will help change someone’s life, This thought alone will make me write. One simple sheet paper is all it takes. To make someone a home to stay in and feel safe. About writing what homes means to me, I can help the people in poverty. I am grateful that my poem can help build a home, For the unfortunate people who don’t have a home.
