Home is Not Just a House

Home is not Just a House Home is not just the house we live in. Home can be a house, an apartment, or even a condo, but there are many things they have in common. Home is a place full of love and laughter. Home is a place where you can be yourself. It is a place where everyone is treated equally. A place where you feel safe and loved. Where everyone gets along.Somewhere where no one is left out. Everyone deserves a safe home, a home where they can learn and grow, but not everyone has a home, and we must strive to help other people get the home they deserve. It's time we all extended a helping hand toward the people who need it, for not having a home is not just having no roof over your head. Not having a home means there is nowhere to learn to get up again when you fall. Not having a home means that someone might not be able to be themselves. Not having a home means not having a place to stay warm when it’s cold. If I could wave a wand and everyone would have a home, I would, but we can't fix this by magic or by waving a wand. We can fix it, though, and people are trying as I write. It is time we all started helping out. Charities and others are trying to help, and even by writing we can help those in need. By writing this essay, Habitat for Humanity gets ten dollars, which they put towards building homes for people who need one. Donating money or even your time, it can help so many people. There are so many ways you can help out, and so many who need that help. People living on the streets, alone with no home, you can assist these people who are in need of a house, a home. Lots of people are already helping, but if we all helped, maybe everyone would have a home to live in, to grow in.
