Inside of a Home

A home doesn't just have four walls and a roof. It has love inside. You feel safe and you feel happy. A home is a place where you can feel grounded. You shouldn’t feel scared to be yourself, make mistakes and be silly. There are six people living in my home and sometimes it can get pretty crazy with different interests, opinions, personalities and coping strategies. Sometimes we fight and argue, but we have learned to accept each other for who we are and we have learned how to forgive each other when we make mistakes. Just like people, it doesn’t matter what is on the outside of a home, what is on the inside is what truly matters. This is similar to the old saying “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” It is not just the decorations on the walls, it is the memories and the love that makes a home. It is a pretty amazing thing when you actually stop and think about what a home truly is. Everyone deserves to have a place to call home, but not everyone has the finances to afford a home. Money should not be the reason that people are denied the opportunity to have a place to call home. Everyone deserves a place where they can create memories, feel safe and feel grounded. A home is not just four walls, a roof, a door and some windows. The people that live inside are what makes a home and everyone deserves to have one.
