What Home Means to Me

To me personally, something special about my home is that I have people inside of it that are caring and always want the best for me. I love everything in my home and I am so grateful for everything that I have inside of my home. Honestly, I don't know if it would be the same without my family. Home is a place that I look forward to going to on hard nights. Now when I think about this problem, it makes me so broken-hearted. Just the thought that some people don't have a place to look forward to going to. Or they are scared of what it will look like when they get back to the place they live. Let's take a look at the numbers of people who are living on the streets in Canada. The population of Canada is around 37.59 million! It is estimated that approximately 35,000 Canadians experience homelessness on any given night. At least 235,000 Canadians are homeless in any given year. Those numbers are very high! Consider how many kids are living on the streets. Across Canada, up to 40,000 youth are homeless. Could you imagine being homeless at the age of 9 to 12? Habitat for Humanity is trying to help them by making homes for the less fortunate. Habitat for Humanity is such an amazing cause that it’s helping people start their life fresh and giving them a better chance at life. So help them now so they can have a home like you do.
