What Makes a House a Home

A house is just a building. It’s just a couple of boards nailed together, but what makes it a home? A home is a place to go to take away your tears and bring out your cheers. It’s a place to laugh with your family and play all day and night with your brother and sister. Home is a place to have fun and bake a cake. It’s a place to play with your dogs and sleep with your cats. It’s a place where you make good memories and talk about bad ones. Home is place where you can sit down and eat as a family. It’s a place where you’re loved and cared for. It’s a place where you can feel safe and let your emotions flow. It’s a place to go when you stub a toe. It’s where your accepted no matter your religion or gender. It’s a place where you can wrestle with your dad and cook with mom. It’s a place to make memories that last the rest of your life. A house is just a building, but home is the feeling you get when you know you are exactly where you are supposed to be. It doesn’t matter how big or small, clean or dirty your house is it’s the love, joy and memories shared in it that makes it a home.
